Karaoke Guy taking new job

To my wonderful friends all over the Kenai Peninsula, I've accepted a job that necessitates me retiring my microphone. I've truly enjoyed being your Karaoke Guy for the past 10 or so years. Together weve sung about 75,000 songs, and laughed our way through around 1,500 shows, events, weddings, parties and fundraisers. Weve witnessed everything from pretty impressive multi-city singing/performance competitions to insane comedy-based contests judged by people who cant stop laughing long enough to speak. Together weve laughed and celebrated our victories, weve shared each others struggles and each others accomplishments, and sometimes weve paused to shed tears over those weve lost.

A lot of people think of karaoke as less-than-amazing entertainment. Well I assure you, my incredibly weird and wacky friends, that the shows youve put on for me were indeed amazing.

Thank you so much for sharing your lives with me. Its been an honor. My last scheduled karaoke night will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, at The Alibi Lounge in Homer. Youre all invited.
