You also can find Lions members selling tickets until the drawing at the Homer Farmers' Market, Spenard Builders Supply, Redden Marine or wherever you see the shiny new 2011 Harley Davidson Fat Bob. To increase the odds of raffle participants winning something the Lions added a new twist to the drawing last year with every 25th ticket being drawn winning a prize valued for at least $100. Door prizes consisting of Harley Davidson merchandise will be given out throughout the evening to all ticket holders present for the drawing.
With the money raised in past raffles we have funded eye exams and glasses for the needy, numerous youth sport groups and programs, elementary and middle school class trips, high school scholarships, the Thanksgiving basket program, Long Term Care Center Christmas gift program and so many more. We know economic times are tough and for a lot of people finding an extra $100 bill to buy a raffle ticket is hard. But the money goes to so many worthy causes we hope people can find it in their hearts to support the Lions Club in this worthy cause.
AJ's will have a live band starting at 9 p.m., so I encourage everyone to buy a ticket and come on out to AJ's and enjoy good food, drinks and watch the show and maybe you will be the lucky winner of a brand new 2011 Harley Davidson Fat Bob.
