Aug. 12

A man at 10:36 a.m. reported he left his broken-down truck parked overnight at the Kachemak Center on Pioneer Avenue and that someone took fishing rods and reels from the pickup.

A woman at 8:15 p.m. reported hitting a moose calf with her vehicle on Pioneer Avenue near the library. The moose went into the woods. Police could not locate the calf.

A man at 8:18 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a 15-year-old girl on the floor at a Sterling Highway address. Police assisted EMTs in responding.

A woman at 11:06 p.m. reported juveniles driving four-wheelers at excessive speeds on the roadway near Bay Vista Place.

Aug. 13

A man at 2:07 a.m. reported three juveniles throwing rocks at parked cars near the Grog Shop and Salvation Army on Pioneer Avenue.

A man at 3:50 am. reported two juveniles tearing down street signs in the Ocean Drive and Lake Street area. Police caught a girl, charged her and released her to her parents.

A man at 4:20 p.m. reported a customer at a Sterling Highway store had her wallet stolen from her shopping basket.

A man at 4:39 p.m. reported someone took his 1980 Suzuki 450 motorcycle sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13 from the Point West Video parking lot.

A woman at 8 p.m. reported having a dispute with her neighbor over a fence on her property in the Grubstake Avenue area.

A woman at 9 p.m. reported her wallet was stolen at a Kachemak Drive address.

Aug. 14

A woman at 12:32 a.m. reported her neighbors in the Main Street area were loud and kept her awake. Police contacted the suspects and asked them to keep the noise down.

Police at 2:12 a.m. stopped a young man for a traffic violation on Fairview Avenue and cited him for minor consuming alcohol.

Police at 7:33 a.m. received a report that someone tried to break into Halibut King Charters on Cannery Row Boardwalk on the Spit. They broke off a door handle but did not make entry.

A man at 10:16 a.m. reported someone took three bags of items off a porch at a Pioneer Avenue address. The suspect threw around the contents of two bags. The complainant believes he knows the perpetrator and asked police to "make him stop doing this."

Police at 8:15 p.m. saw a driver in a vehicle traveling northbound on the Sterling Highway at about 80 mph. The suspect failed to stop when an officer turned on his overhead lights.

Aug. 15

A woman at 9:21 p.m. complained that a man in the Main Street area lets his dog run loose and that it knocks down her 1-year-old daughter.

A woman at 11:41 p.m. reported her husband hit her in the face at their Main Street home. Police arrested a 42-year-old man for assault.

Aug. 16

A woman at 1:43 p.m. reported someone broke into her purple bus on Main Street and Pioneer.

Police at 4:54 p.m. received a "report every drunk driver immediately" complaint of a driver in a Ford Escape. Police stopped the suspect near Pioneer Avenue and arrested a 33-year-old man for driving while intoxicated and driving while license suspended, revoked or canceled.

A Federal Aviation Association employee at 7:18 p.m. reported a Cessna 185 floatplane overdue. Police located the pilot and plane on the south side of Beluga Lake and found everything to be OK. The pilot forgot to close the flight plan.

An anonymous caller at 10:37 p.m. reported loud noise coming from the Coast Guard housing. Police responded and the noisemakers agreed to quiet down.

Police at 9:58 p.m. summonsed a 25-year-old man for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Aug. 17

A woman at 1 a.m. reported an intoxicated person in the house she was housesitting who would not leave. Police arrested a 37-year-old man for trespassing, fourth-degree assault and verbal assault.

Police at 2:02 a.m. arrested a 38-year-old man for DWI on Pioneer Avenue.

A man at 7:47 p.m. reported a 78-year-old man stayed in a cabin on the caller's Sterling Highway property and had not been seen for several days. Police found the man dead in the cabin.

Aug. 18

Police at 4:31 a.m. cited a 19-year-old man with minor consuming alcohol and operating a vehicle after drinking.

A man at 1 p.m. reported a person threatened to "blow his head off" at the Texaco gas station on the Sterling Highway. The man reported the incident for information only.

A man at 6:24 p.m. reported two vehicles leaving the Uncle Thirsty's parking lot spun tires and threw rocks, breaking out the taillight of another vehicle.

An anonymous person at 10:40 p.m. reported a driver smoking marijuana with his passengers. Police arrested a 25-year-old man for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, marijuana.
