In the freshman girls race, Hannah Harrison ran to a fourth-place finish, with teammate Megan Mahan finishing in sixth place.

For the freshman boys, Morgan Jones placed fourth, and Peter Shepard 10th.

For sophomores, Amanda Isenhour finished 13th, and for the boys, Dylan Anderson placed sixth, Travis Hines seventh and Mike Farrens 15th.

Aleta Phelps finished first for the junior girls and second overall, and Monte Garroutte finished first for the junior boys and second overall.

For the seniors, Cody Smith finished 14th for the boys.

The five runners who raced the Nikiski course last year significantly improved their times, led by Dylan Anderson, who cut more than five minutes from his time.

On Saturday, the Mariners ran as two teams at the Bartlett Relays. Garoutte, Phelps, Isenhour and Jones edged out Anderson, Mahan, Farrens and Hines, led by Garoutte's top 10 finish.
