A car pauses at a stop sign at the exit to the Homer High School parking lot recently. Visible on the right side of the photo is a new section of Heath Street that city Public Works crews extended between the police station and the school. "The main reason we did it was to relieve some of the congestion at the entrance to the high school," said Public Works Superintendent Jan Jonker. "Itpis been looked at for several years." The work was finished about a week ago, he said, and the new portion of Heath Street will "hopefully" be paved in the near future.
