Evaline Trail: a community treasure

One of our community's greatest assets is often not even known, I have discovered. It is the Evaline Trail, a field of endless meadow flowers all season and an awesome mountain view. This hiking trail was created and maintained by our own Dave Brann, and it is now a state park, complete with picnic tables and a Mr. and Mrs. John. About a mile past McNeil Canyon Elementary School on the new East Road, take the first left to Whispering Meadows, and from there to the parking lot and biffy and sign-in spot on the left. A statue to Evaline is on the right.

And while you are treasuring our new hiking trails, notice the considerable upgrade on the Calvin Coyle Trail. No boots needed to keep your feet dry there any more.

Thanks to those who make hiking more accessible in this wondrous Cosmic-Hamlet-by-the-Sea.
