Griffin James Abell was born Aug. 9, 2011, at 10:12 a.m., at South Peninsula Hospital, to Shelly and Samuel Abell of Homer. He weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces. His grandparents are Vonna Jim Anderson of Prairie City, Ore., and Sue and Vern Abell of Rainier, Ore.
