Aug. 3

A woman at 11 a.m. reported losing her wallet at a Sterling Highway store.

A man at 11:30 a.m. turned in a found cell phone.

A caller at 3:03 p.m. reported a forged check at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and arrested a 38-year-old man for third-degree theft and fraudulent use of an access device.

A woman at 5:20 p.m. reported domestic abuse. Police responded and arrested a 61-year-old man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

A man at 6:07 p.m. made a 911 call that a man came into his home, forced him at gunpoint into a car, drove him to a Homer bank and forced him to withdraw money. The man said he gave the suspect money and ran away from the car.

A caller at 11:32 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a 4-year-old girl she heard crying all day at a Pioneer Avenue address. The caller said the mother is extremely drunk.

Aug. 4

A caller at 1:39 a.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Spit home. Police responded.

A person at 1:42 a.m. made a 911 call of people shouting and a possible fight at a Spit campground. Police responded but could not find the fight.

Police at 3 a.m. stopped a 24-year-old woman driving on Kachemak Way and issued her a summons for driving in violation of an instructional permit.

A woman at 11:33 a.m. reported her doghouse was stolen from a Mission Road address while she was out of town. The owner of the doghouse reported the doghouse was not stolen.

Police at 1:20 p.m. arrested a 49-year-old man on an outstanding warrant at Karen Hornaday Park.

A person at 4:43 p.m. made a 911 call of a car crash with injuries on Pioneer Avenue. Police and EMTs responded.

A person at 5:06 p.m. made a 911 call that a person in a car was trying to launch a boat in a restricted area on Brown Bear Loop. Police responded but did not find the boat launcher.

A person at 9:03 p.m. made a 911 call that a drunk man refused to leave a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded and arrested a 62-year-old man for trespassing and sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Police at 11:10 p.m. issued a summons to a 20-year-old man for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Aug. 5

A person at 4:52 a.m. reported a possible prowler in the Lee Drive area. Police responded but could not find a prowler.

A person at 9:09 a.m. reported a disturbance at a Pioneer Avenue business. Police arrested a 27-year-old man on a warrant and for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. They arrested a 21-year-old woman for resisting arrest, interfering with an arrest and disorderly conduct.

A man at 11:54 a.m. made a 911 call of a driver in a car blocking traffic on the Spit Road while taking photos of wildlife.

A man at 1:37 p.m. reported gasoline missing from his car while parked in a long-term parking lot on the Spit.

A man at 1:54 p.m. reported gasoline missing from his car while parked overnight on the Spit.

Police at 2:58 p.m. issued a summons to a 26-year-old woman for driving while license revoked.

Aug. 6

A caller at 2:52 a.m. reported a drunk man in the lobby of a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded and gave the man a ride home.

A caller at 5:26 a.m. reported excessive noise from a rooster on Mariner Drive. Police tried to contact the roosters owner but didnt get an answer. They forwarded the complaint to the animal control officer.

A man at 8:43 a.m. reported unknown people followed him at the direction of a former girlfriend.

A caller at 12:54 p.m. reported a piece of heavy equipment fell off a trailer on Ocean Drive Loop and was blocking traffic. No one was injured. The vehicle was moved.

An agency employee at 3:47 p.m. reported suspected abuse of an elderly man. Police responded and said the complaint was unfounded.

A woman at 4:06 p.m. reported an unknown man harassed her at her Spit place of work. The man later left.

A caller at 4:16 p.m. reported four men got out of a white van and surrounded a woman near Mile 3 East End Road. Police responded but did not have a license plate number or an exact description of the van.

Aug. 7

A man at midnight made a 911 call of an altercation on a Fairview Avenue trail. Police responded but could not locate any suspects.

Police at 1:03 p.m. put warnings on cars parked illegally near a business on Beluga Place at Bishops Beach.

Aug. 8

A caller at 12:08 a.m. reported people left a car parked on No View Avenue and ran into the woods.

A person at 10 a.m. turned in a bicycle found near Beluga Slough off Bunnell Avenue.

A caller at 11:23 a.m. made a report every dangerous driver immediately complaint of a bicyclist on Kachemak Drive.

A woman at 2:51 p.m. reported her son might be missing from the Homer area.

A hospital worker at 3:52 p.m. reported a patient with a dog bite at the emergency room that happened outside of city limits.

Police at 4:14 p.m. delivered animal complaint tickets to a person on Mariner Drive.

A caller at 8:54 p.m. reported suspicious activity at a No View Avenue lot. Police contacted two men and told them to leave the area.

Aug. 9

A woman at 12:35 a.m. reported she broke up with her boyfriend and he might hurt himself. Police contacted the ex-boyfriend and determined he was OK.

A man at 4:43 a.m. reported his rooster did not crow on Mariner Drive as often as reported. He said an owl made some sounds and wanted to document the incident.

A man at 10:10 a.m. reported he was attacked by three unknown men while camping on the Mud Bay beach about three weeks ago.

A woman at 10:50 a.m. reported items stolen from her unlocked car parked on Kachemak Way.

A man at 12:14 p.m. reported a small red pickup truck on blocks at Mariner Park on the Spit. Police responded and determined all was OK.

A caller at 1:05 p.m. reported a man wearing several weapons openly on his person at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and could not locate the suspect.

A man at 4:30 p.m. reported unknown persons camping on his No View Avenue property.

A woman at 4:44 p.m. reported a white husky-shepherd mix dog with a red leash and green collar lying on the deck of her Alan Street home. Police took the dog to the animal shelter.

A camp fee collector at 5:35 p.m. reported a group of campers causing a disturbance at Karen Hornaday Park.

Police at 6:26 p.m. arrested a 39-year-old man on a warrant at Karen Hornaday Park.

A woman at 7 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on her son known to be using drugs.

Aug. 10

A caller at 12:29 a.m. reported an unconscious person lying outside at a Meadow Lane address. Police gave the person a ride to the harbor.

A person at 12:59 a.m. reported a man trespassing at a Pioneer Avenue parking lot. Police arrested the man for criminal trespassing.

A man at 1:45 p.m. made a 911 call of a car blocking traffic and the driver having a seizure near Mile 2 East Hill Road. Police and EMTs responded. The man was taken to the hospital and the road cleared.

A woman at 2:13 p.m. reported receiving harassing text messages, phone messages and emails.

A man at 4:20 p.m. made a 911 call of a man driving erratically on Skyline Drive. Police determined it was a driver previously contacted on East Hill Road. Police contacted the driver at his home.

A man at 8:29 p.m. reported another man tried to damage his car on the Spit.

Aug. 11

Police at 1:34 a.m. arrested a 63-year-old man for drunk driving after contacting him on the Sterling Highway.

Police at 2:49 a.m. contacted people inside cars illegally camping on FAA Road and told them to camp in designated areas only.

A caller at 3:09 a.m. reported a man lying outside on the ground on Pioneer Avenue. Police took the man to the hospital for evaluation and later into protective custody.

A woman at 10:20 a.m. asked to speak to an officer about a death threat.

A caller at 11:33 a.m. reported motorhomes parked in the bike lane on Ocean Drive in front of a business.

A caller at 11:54 p.m. reported a drunk man tried to damage cars parked on Bunnell Avenue in front of a business. Police arrested a 34-year-old man for drunk person on licensed premises and second-degree criminal trespassing.

Aug. 12

A man at 12:10 a.m. reported his wife hadnt returned home to Soldotna after a drive to Homer. Troopers also asked police to do a welfare check on the woman. Police contacted the woman and determined she was OK.

A caller at 12:35 a.m. reported people looking into windows of Pioneer Avenue businesses. Police contacted several people who denied any crime.

A caller at 9:10 a.m. reported a wounded pheasant on the side of Pioneer Avenue and a person trying to assist the pheasant.

A person at 6:31 p.m. made a 911 call that a drunk woman drove to a home and tried to leave. Police responded and arrested a 22-year-old woman for driving under the influence.

Police at 11:05 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 40-year-old man driving on Lake Street. Police arrested the man for felony DUI.

Aug. 13

A caller at 9:56 a.m. reported losing hs wallet.

A man at 11:19 a.m. reported a dog bit his son.

A man at 12:21 p.m. asked police for advice on handling harassing text messages. Police provided the man with options.

A woman at 4:53 p.m. reported a reckless driver at Mile 4 Homer Spit Road.
