Aug. 6

A man at 12:38 p.m. reported items stolen from bags left overnight at the Salvation Army on Pioneer Avenue.

A man at 10:13 a.m. reported seeing a front-quarter of beef on the beach in front of the ferry terminal.

Aug. 7

A woman at 11:48 a.m. reported losing her wallet with identification and traveler's checks at the Anchor Point boat launch.

A woman at 8:37 a.m. reported a man said he left Homer and was headed to Anchor Point to commit suicide.

A man at 1:52 p.m. reported a woman took a shopping cart and was on Pioneer Avenue. It was the second time she had done so.

A woman at 5:54 p.m. reported a dog bit her 6-year-old boy.

Police at 9:19 p.m. warned kids at the Fishing Hole not to snag silvers. They cited one person for not having a fishing license in possession.

Police at 10:43 p.m. arrested a 51-year-old man on Pioneer Avenue for driving while intoxicated.

Aug. 8

Police at 1:37 a.m. arrested a 29-year-old man for DWI after making a routine traffic stop.

A telephone operator at 4:02 a.m. reported an intoxicated man made numerous threatening phone calls from a pay phone on the Spit. Police could not locate the man.

Police at 1:48 p.m. received a report of a suspect in custody who damaged a jailcell.

A woman at 4 p.m. reported that at 10:30 a.m. a woman accused a Sterling Highway bank of stealing her money and threatened to blow up the bank.

A man at 9:56 p.m. reported juveniles on 4-wheelers racing on Lincoln Drive near West Hill Road for the previous two hours. Police could not locate the suspects.

Police at 10:18 p.m. contacted the juvenile driver of a 4-wheeler on Crestline Place and warned the driver not to drive on the roadway.

Aug. 9

A man at 4:22 a.m. reported hearing screaming and yelling from a Main Street apartment.

A woman at 5:45 p.m. reported the theft of jewelry from a Sterling Highway business.

Police at 6:14 p.m. went to a vehicle fire near West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway.

Aug. 10

Police at 2:43 a.m. arrested a 38-year-old man for DWI and driving without a valid operator's license.

A public works employee at 7:09 a.m. reported someone kicked in and damaged the women's restroom door at Karen Hornaday Park.

A Parks employee at 9 a.m. reported someone wrote with a felt marker on several motorhomes at Mariner Park.

A man at 9:13 a.m. reported someone broke into his Grubstake Avenue home and took items.

A woman at 9:35 a.m. reported two bags of tools taken the night before from a Bartlett Street address.

Police at 11:26 a.m. arrested a 55-year-old man for driving without a license.

A woman at 1:59 p.m. reported three 4-wheelers speeding on the Spit beach that forced a family walking on the beach to jump out of their way. Police contacted five juveniles from Hawaii and warned them of driving recklessly.

Aug. 11

A man at 6:40 a.m. reported a barking dog in the Larkspur Court area. This has been a continual problem.

A woman at 12:19 p.m. said she spent the night at a Pioneer Avenue lodging, that the owner moved her into a smaller room she did not want to stay in and he refused to refund her money.

A woman at 5:39 p.m. reported a parakeet flying around Pioneer Avenue. She tried but could not catch the bird.

A woman at 5 p.m. turned in a backpack found near Mile 1 Spit Road.

Aug. 12

Police at 3:17 a.m. assisted troopers at Green Timbers and the Sterling Highway with a belligerent suspect under investigation for DWI.
