Chenik decision defies logic
What do you get when you mix politics, egos, authority and hunting guides? Add a big portion of the "control game" by Fish and Game, the state and lobbyists. What do you get? You get the slaughter of bears (one of nature's magnificent creatures" for sport versus enjoying, admiration and appreciation of the wildness of Alaska (truly on the verge of losing the name "The Last Frontier").
A life's dedication, burned to the ground. It doesn't make sense to me, but I do understand politics and the wanton egos of people in the state.
I urge Alaskans to support the McBrides, even though it seems a bit later. And remember, apathy destroys everything. "We the people" need to teach common sense. It seems to be clearly lacking in our government.
