The Seldovia Native Association, which owns 24,000 acres of inholdings in Kachemak Bay State Park that are subject to logging, announced this week that the state must pay it $2.23 million by Oct. 1 or lose the option of buying the land.
A SouthCentral Air Inc. plane carrying mail from Homer to Anchorage inadvertently did a mail drop on the way when a cargo door popped open midflight, dropping 62 pounds of U.S. first class mail. --from the issue of Aug. 13, 1992
