Recycle receptacle in place at top of Homer harbor's Ramp No. 1

The Homer Harbor is currently implementing best management practices within the harbor in an effort to be the first certified clean harbor in the state of Alaska.

One step is to establish a recycling satellite recep- tacle for harbor users that handles cardboard, glass and aluminum. It has been put in place at the top of Ramp No. 1.

Recyclable materials are transferred on a weekly basis to the Homer Baling Facility.

The Alaska Clean Harbors program is administered by Cook Inletkeeper. The city's Resolution 10-61, passed July 2010, endorsed the Alaska Clean Harbor pledge and expressed support of actions resulting in a Clean Harbor certification.
