A Ninilchik man died last Friday evening when he hit a truck while driving a motorcycle on Easy Street in Ninilchik. Lewis Gerald, 33, was flown by a Life Med helicopter to an Anchorage hospital and pronounced dead there. According to an Alaska State Trooper press release, Gerald drove a Honda Enduro motorcycle north on Easy Street at about 7:40 p.m. when he crossed into the oncoming lane and hit head on a Chevrolet truck driven by Greydon Campbell, 17, also of Ninilchik. The crash happened near the intersection with Burlwood Lane. Easy Street is a residential road connecting to Oil Well Road about a mile from the Sterling Highway in Ninilchik. Gerald wore his helmet. Campbell was not injured. An investigation into the crash is continuing.
