Many make Games possible

On behalf of the Kachemak Bay Conservation Society, The Kachemak Bay Scottish Club and The Scottish American Athletic Association, I would like to thank all the hearty spectators who turned out to cheer on the third Highland Games in Homer. It was a well-run games, thanks to SAAA. Thanks to the athletes who endured to the last event, making the organizing work well worth the effort.

Highland Games would not be complete without pipe bands. Thanks to Alaska Celtic Pipes and Drums, Alaska Scottish Pipe and Drums and Crow Creek Pipe and Drums.

Thanks to the city of Homer, Angie at Parks and Recreation for a great venue and KBBI for the use of the stage. Homer Chamber of Commerce helped obtain insurance. Dave Brann and crew ran the youth games with the great imagination, making them fun for all.

Homer is gifted with the greatest and generous business. Thanks to Michael Warburton of the Ocean Shores Motel and Dennis Novak of the Bay View Inn for providing rooms for the SAAA Judging Team. Donations from Carrs/Safeway and The Kachemak Bay Ferry/Saltry Restaurant.

Thanks for the financial support that came from Homer Veterinary Clinic, NOMAR, Kachemak Crane Watch and Homer Electric Association

Thanks to Beluga Lake Lodge for enduring the crowd when the rains came and Land's End Resort's restaurant deck became wind blown and wet. Cornish Music provided the sound system.

A huge thanks to Renee Krause, Hal Shepherd and all the volunteers who put in lots of time and energy.

And last, a big thanks to KBCS President Roberta Highland and staff who had to endure my kilted fun.
