July 30

A woman at 10:43 a.m. reported the restroom doors kicked in and the baseball shed damaged at Karen Hornaday Park.

A man at 11 a.m. reported that someone misused his identity and this affected his credit.

A man at 9:54 p.m. reported the "snack shack" door lock broken at Karen Hornaday Park..

July 31

A person at 12:29 a.m. reported a man in a vehicle sitting outside after hours at a Sterling Highway business. Police contacted the man and found he was just using the pay phone.

Police at 2:06 a.m. contacted a 39-year-old man at Karen Hornaday Park and arrested him for driving while intoxicated.

A woman at 10:15 a.m. reported someone broke into a Kachemak Drive building the night before.

A man at 2:30 p.m. reported ongoing problems with trespassers on his Fireweed Avenue property. He recently posted a large no trespassing sign with 4-by-4 posts that has now been ripped out.

A woman at 10:16 p.m. reported a Ford pickup speeding through her driveway at Bunnell and Main streets. When she asked the driver and passengers not to drive through her property, they cursed her. Police located the truck and occupants and warned them not to trespass.

Aug. 1

A woman at 2:55 p.m. reported her 10-foot aluminium row boat missing from the beach below her Kachemak Drive house.

Aug. 2

Police at 2:36 a.m. and 11:32 p.m. summonsed drivers for failure to have proof of insurance in their vehicles.

A woman at 7:53 p.m. reported hearing a vehicle driving by her Main Street home and then the sound of a rock hitting her sliding glass door, shattering the door.

A man at 7:02 p.m. asked for extra police patrol at his Spit Road business. He said someone has been going through his Dumpster and scattering garbage.

A woman at 11:43 p.m. asked for a welfare check on an elderly woman who appeared confused and acted oddly. Police checked on the woman and she appeared to be safe.

Aug. 3

Police at 12:45 a.m., 10:05 p.m.,10:30 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. summonsed drivers for failure to have proof of insurance in their vehicles.

Police at 3:08 a.m. arrested a 22-year-old man at a Bunnell Street address on an outstanding warrant and for possession of marijuana.

Police at 11:29 p.m. cited a young woman for minor consuming alcohol and operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol.

Aug. 4

A man at 4:40 p.m. reported someone cut a small backpack with tools off his bicycle while it was parked at Eagle Quality Center the evening before.

Police at 7:25 p.m. summonsed a 49-year-old man for improper use of evidence of registration of his vehicle.

Aug. 5

A hospital employee at 1:14 a.m. reported a patient at the emergency room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A First National Bank employee at 2:20 p.m. reported a hit-and-run accident at the bank. Police arrested a 54-year-old woman for leaving the scene of an accident.

A Soldotna police officer at 5:30 p.m. asked police to look for his wife's lost camera near the fish-cleaning tables on the Spit. Police found the camera.

A man at 5:30 p.m. at the fish-cleaning tables flagged down an officer to report finding an open letter with a check inside.

Police at 10:58 p.m. summonsed a driver at Mile 1.5 Spit Road for driving in violation of instructional permit and failure to provide proof of insurance.

Aug. 6

Police at 12:26 a.m. summonsed a 57-year-old man at Pioneer and Heath streets for drivng while license suspended.
