Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday while Northstar Paving and Construction cut a trench in the road to install sewer pipes connecting the West Lakeshore Drive neighborhood to the city utility.

"The intent was to bore underneath the highway," said Public Works Director Carey Meyer. "We tried that, and ran into a bunch of logs and stumps, and were forced instead to open cut." The improvements are one of four ongoing water-sewer projects throughout town, Meyer said.
