Three Homer high school baseball players continued the 2011 season by joining Kenai's American Legion team. Since Homer no longer has a Legion team, Dylan Morrison, Kevin Rowe and Brian Rowe teamed up with the Kenai Post 20 Twins for the summer, where they went 9-19 against 10 other teams from the Anchorage/Valley area and Fairbanks.

The boys topped off the season at the 2011 American Legion State Tournament Championship July 22-28 in Anchorage.

With Kevin Rowe on the pitcher's mound and first base, Morrison catching and Brian Rowe in right field, the Twins won their first game 8-6 against Bartlett then lost 8-6 to Fairbanks the next day. They beat West 15-7 to advance to play Dimond. Kenai led 5-4 going into the bottom of the eighth, but lost the game 9-5.

Dimond went on to win the championship, beating South twice for the victory.

The Kenai team is struggling to continue due to finances. Anyone wishing to donate can call Lance Coz at 398-9077.
