Troopers at 4:24 p.m. received a report that four or five winches worth $70 each and some parts were stolen from a 1969 Dodge Power Wagon parked at a North Fork Road home.
July 27
Troopers at 8:30 a.m. received a report of a suspicious man hanging around the Sunrise Inn in Cooper Landing. Troopers at 9:34 a.m. found the suspect on a dirt road east of the inn. The 26-year-old Homer man told troopers his 1987 Jeep station wagon had run out of gas. A license check showed the Jeep was stolen out of Homer. Troopers arrested the man for first-degree vehicle theft, a felony.
Troopers at 3:25 p.m. went to a single-vehicle rollover on Skyline Drive. They allege a 16-year-old girl driving west on Skyline lost control and rolled her 1989 Volkswagen. Troopers cited her for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.
