The official filing period for seven Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly seats, including two from the Homer-Anchor Point area, the borough mayor's office, three seats on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Board of Education, and a host of seats on various borough service area boards began today at 8 a.m.

Completed election forms must be returned to the borough clerk's office by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 15. Candidates may fax copies to the clerk's office, but the original documents must be delivered to the clerk within seven days.

Election packets containing all the necessary borough paperwork can be picked up at the borough's Homer annex building on Pioneer Avenue. Documents may also be downloaded from the borough's Web site at www.borough.kenai.ak.us.
