July 22

Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 38-year-old Homer man, another 38-year-old Homer man, a 49-year-old Homer man, a 31-year-old Homer woman, a 31-year-old Anchor Point woman, and a 31-year-old Homer man for failing to record personal use taken red salmon during the Kenai River dipnet fishery. Troopers also cited 16 other people from Anchorage, Wasilla, Girdwood and Soldotna for failing to record personal use taken salmon.

July 25

Alaska State Troopers at 8:46 p.m. received a report from two men that they had been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Clamshell Lodge in Clam Gulch. The men said they were following the suspect vehicle and chased it until it stopped near Mile 14 Kalifornsky Beach Road. The men said the driver got out and fired two shots at them. The men said they followed the car toward Kenai but lost site of the suspect car but gave a description. Troopers stopped the car near Mile 4 Kenai Spur Highway near Soldotna and arrested two people in the car, a 36-year-old Wasilla man and a 30-year-old Anchor Point woman, for first-degree robbery, second-degree theft and attempted murder. The suspects were taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility. An investigation is continuing.

July 27

Wildlife troopers issued a summons to a 68-year-old Homer man for commercial fishing with a drift net in closed waters in the upper Cook Inlet.

July 28

Troopers at 6:09 p.m. contacted a 54-year-old Anchor Point man during a traffic hazard investigation in Anchor Point. Troopers allege the man drove while drunk and while his license was revoked and arrested him for driving under the influence and driving while license revoked.

Troopers at 11:30 a.m. cited a 43-year-old Oregon man for sport fishing in Kachemak Bay without a sportfish license. Bail was set at $210.
