TEDxHomer happening today at Mariner Theatre

TEDxHomer happens from 5 to 10 p.m. today at the Mariner Theatre, Homer High School. On the theme "Let's Play," TEDxHomer is an evening of music, art, laughter, ideas, innovations, solutions, conversation and a chance to mingle with thinkers and doers for exchanging ideas.

Live and televised speakers include author and field ecologist Susan Tweit, author of "Walking Nature Home"; Amir Zoghi, a leader in the personal growth industry who left to pursue his own quest for truth; author Eric Saperston, who speaks on the idea of living in wonder; hip-hop musician and rap artist MC Lars; and local musical guests JoAnn and Monte and Kammi O.

TED, for technology, entertainment and design, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ideas worth spreading. TEDxHomer is a local program affiliated with TED to bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
