Todd Syverson of the district said a Homer resident received a phone call from an individual claiming to be fund raising for improvement projects at area schools.

The individual contacted the district and found no such fund-raiser existed. The district then contacted Alaska State Troopers.

Police advise anyone receiving such a phone call to contact the district to confirm it is a legitimate fund-raiser. For more information, call 262-5846.
