Three teams represented the Soccer Association of Homer last week at the Far North youth soccer tournament in Anchorage. Two Under-14 teams a boys and a girls and a boys' U16-19 team attended the tournament, held July 14-17 at Kincaid Park. The U16-19 team won two games and tied one en route to the championship game, which they lost 3-2 on penalty kicks. Mario Glosser and Pedro Ochoa scored during regulation play and McKenzy Haber and Konstantin Reutov made penalty shots. Ren Carroll netted a goal for the U14 boys, who won their first game 1-0 but lost the next two. The girls didn't win a game, but still benefited from the tournament experience. "All teams had a good time. They learned and played better," said Homer's association administrator Tommie CarlinSchauer.
