The Homer Breast Cancer Run, a 5-kilometer run or 1-mile walk, will be Aug. 14. The event supports early detection programs and breast health screenings at Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic. The run starts at 11 a.m. at Bishop's Beach. There are prizes for the most sponsorship money collected. Registration and sponsorship forms are available online at kbfpc.org or at KBFPC on Ben Walters Lane. Volunteers are needed for course set-up and break down, flagging stations and water stops.
