The Homer Garden Club's annual Gardeners' Weekend events will be held Aug. 6-7. At 7 p.m. on Aug. 6, plant expert and writer Dan Hinkley will discuss garden design concepts at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center. Admission is $10. Seven local gardens with a variety of styles and areas of focus will be open for self-guided tours 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 7, followed by a reception at Bear Creek Winery for participants in the other events. Garden tour tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for Homer Garden Club members. For more information, visit homergardenclub.org.
