Student and Military News
Katie Marie Schollenberg of Anchor Point was one of six students from across the state selected by the Alaska Travel Industry Association as a recipient of ATIA's annual scholarship awards for 2002. Students were selected based on their academic achievements, tourism-oriented career goals and other criteria. ATIA received more than 50 applications this year. The 2002 scholarships were funded through member and chapter contributions.

The scholarships support university and technical college education for those connected to the halibut fishery and its industry. The program offers $2,000 scholarships to U.S. or Canadian students starting in the fall of 2002. Apply by Aug. 15.
