Honey's Place Bed & Breakfast hosts this month's Homer Chamber of Commerce Mixer, 5-7 p.m., with a beach party at Mile 1.5 Spit Road. Eagle Eye Helicopter co-hosts the event. The chamber invites members or anyone interested in joining the chamber to attend. Call 235-7740.

Saturday, July 20

Wynn Nature Center sponsors a free family program, "Pollination Station," 10 a.m.-noon at the center.

The Homer Public Library holds a salmon bake to raise funds for the new library 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Street Fair in the upper parking lot of the high school.

Monday, July 22

South Peninsula Women's Services offers Volunteer Advocate Training starting Monday and running evenings through Friday, Aug. 2. The 44-hour course is free and trains volunteers in working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. For more information or to register call 235-7712.

Homer City Council holds a special meeting with a limited agenda at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The Committee of the Whole and the regular meeting are cancelled.
