Anchorage resident, Lance K. Morrison, 54, died unexpectedly in Nikiski on July 2, 2012, from heart complications.

A celebration of Lances life will be at 3 p.m. July 13, 2012, at the Change Point Church, 6689 Change Point Drive in Anchorage.

Lance was born July 7, 1957, in Seattle, Wash. It was 1973 when he moved to Alaska. He also had lived in Juneau, Nikiski and Halibut Cove. Lance attended Juneau-Douglas High School. He got his start at Morrison Mechanical, which he evolved and grew into two businesses, Morrison Mechanical Insulation as well as the Alaska Industrial Insulation Co. Lance had a big and generous heart. He was fond of the work with the Soup Kitchen in Anchorage as well as Second to None. He also was a board member of the Alano Club. His all-around interests included snowmachines, fishing, boating and motorcycles. His great joy and pride in his life was his wife and children and being together.

Lance will be forever remembered for giving others a second chance, as well as his generous contributions, wrote the family.

Lance was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Morrison.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Morrison of Anchorage; his two brothers, Blake Morrison of Anchorage and Mark Morrison of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Gina Morrison of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Merrijane Morrison of Laguna Beach, Calif. He also was blessed with six children in his life: four daughters, Brandi Hadron of Wasilla, Caitlin Morrison of Seattle, Lindy Morrison of Anchorage and Vicky Scheideman of Anchorage; two sons, Taylor Richards of Vancouver, Wash., and Richard Scheideman of Nikiski. Lance leaves behind his father, Craig Morrison of Eloy, Ariz.; aunt, Judy Oakland of Eloy; aunt and uncle, Carol and Jim Walker of Texas; and numerous cousins and extended family. He was very proud of his grandchildren Katherine, Joyce, Elijah, Faith and Nevaeh.
