June 27

Several callers at 9:52 a.m. reported a large black-and-white great Dane dog running at large on the Homer Spit.

A man at 10:05 a.m. reported a loose dog chased walkers and bicyclists and rooted up gardens in the Grubstake Avenue area.

An Alaska State Trooper at 1:36 p.m. reported seeing a man fall from his bicycle and hit his head at Lake Street and Pioneer Avenue. EMTs took the man to the hospital. The man also was alleged to be in violation of probation requirements.

A woman at 4 p.m. reported fraudulent use of a credit card.

A caller at 6:38 p.m. reported a group of people burning a camp fire on private property on Compass Drive. Police saw a car leaving the area and found a smoldering campfire.

A woman at 7:13 p.m. reported a bear in a tree above her chicken coop on Kachemak Way. Police responded. An Alaska Department of Fish and Game official advised the woman to secure her chickens.

June 28

Police at 12:34 a.m. stopped a 36-year-old man driving on Svedlund Street and arrested him for driving under the influence, driving while license revoked, sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and not having vehicle insurance.

A caller at 9:40 a.m. reported a vendor without a permit in a white tent on the right of way on Bunnell Avenue who impeded traffic.

A man at 4:39 p.m. reported a man unconscious and not responsive at a Jenny Lane home.

A woman at 8:57 p.m. reported seeing a man wearing only a towel on Soundview Avenue. Police responded and determined the man was OK.

A man at 10:07 p.m. reported a pickup truck being driven with multiple people in the bed.

June 29

A caller at 8:36 a.m. reported a boy in distress on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded and found the boy was OK.

A caller at 10 a.m. reported a mobile food stand on the Spit that might be violating city ordinances.

A caller at 2:54 p.m. reported a broken window at a Main Street building and asked police to check that the building was secure.

Police at 3:57 p.m. provided information to troopers regarding a 2008 arson case.

A caller at 4:23 p.m. reported a dog in the Tamara Street area bit other dogs.

A caller at 5:39 p.m. reported a man snagging fish at the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon.

June 30

A caller at 7:31 p.m. reported two drivers speeding and passing unsafely on the Spit.

A caller at 10:36 a.m. reported people in a blue minivan removing rocks from the revetment on the Spit.

A caller at 11:04 a.m. reported a bus and information tent on Bunnell Avenue causing a traffic and parking problem when dropping off passengers.

A person at 11:36 a.m. made a 911 call of a small child hanging out the window of a car is it went down Main Street.

A caller at 8:32 p.m. reported a person possibly living in a van parked on the premises of a Sterling Highway business. Police advised the person in the van to move on.

A caller at 11:03 p.m. reported a drunk pedestrian on Main Street. Police put a 23-year-old woman into protective custody.

Several callers at 11:29 p.m. reported a vessel on fire in Kachemak Bay off Bluff Point. Police contacted troopers and the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard confirmed it was a flare from maneuvers.

July 1

A man at 3:02 a.m. reported a car stolen from a Danview Avenue driveway.

A woman at 2:06 p.m. reported a Pioneer Avenue business would not return her property left for repair.

A caller at 10:32 p.m. reported a young man tried to steal his pickup truck from a Sterling Highway parking lot and then left with someone in a brown-and-gray Ford.

A man at 11:20 p.m. reported graffiti painted on a Pioneer Avenue business.

July 2

A woman at 1:50 a.m. made a 911 call of a man trying to break into her car at the Karen Hornaday Park campground.

Police at 3:09 a.m. stopped a 35-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway and arrested him for DUI.

A caller at 5:38 a.m. reported a car in the ditch on Kachemak Drive. Police arrested a 23-year-old man for DUI.

A woman at 5 p.m. reported another woman came to her work place and threatened her.

A man at 6:31 p.m. reported a person following him around town for an extended period.

Police at 7:24 p.m. warned a driver for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk on the Homer Spit.

A man at 9:14 p.m. reported a person in a Subaru driving unsafely on Bishop's Beach.

A woman at 10:20 p.m. reported finding an injured puppy on the side of the Sterling Highway.

A man at 10:32 p.m. reported a person in a black pickup driving on Bishop's Beach and disturbing people.

Police at 11:14 p.m. advised an ATV rider on the Spit of safety habits and where to ride.
