Fossils, porcupine quills, caterpillars, dead flies and even fish eyeballs have been making their way into our local Boys & Girls Club lately. This is actually encouraged as we explore a new world that until now our members have only stepped on: the world of the small. A generous grant from the Homer Foundation has allowed us to purchase four beautiful microscopes for use by our club members. Our scopes are not held behind doors only to be brought out during class time. They are out in our games rooms and may be used at any time by any member as long as there is a staff member in the room.
Awed outbursts of "Whoa!" or "This is so cool!" are now frequently heard thanks to the Homer Foundation that has enabled us to continue our quest to preserve our members' (and staff's) natural sense of wonder. Thank you Homer Foundation.
