A study is being made of city water at three Homer residences and an office building after reports of bad water and corroding pipes and green drain stains.
A 51 percent electric rate increase granted to Chugach Electric Association late last week will translate into about a 22 percent increase for Homer Electric Association customers. The HEA customer cost increase will go up $1.04 for 1,000 kilowatt hours in the first step. In the second, it will go up another $4.20 for 1,000 kwh.
