Golf tourney benefits hospice

Hospice of Homer held its third annual Holes Fore Hospice of Homer Golf Tournament at the Fireweed Meadows Golf Course in Anchor Point on June 2. It was yet again a huge success. To the many community members and businesses that made the event fun-filled for the golfers and a rewarding fundraiser for hospice, a heart-centered thank you.

To all the golfers, a huge thanks for sharing your joy of golf in support of hospice. Special kudos to the team who took first place in the tournament, Mike Houghton, Chris Morin, Jim Arndt and Charlie Kiefer who shot a 7 under 47. Congratulations to Sandy McDaniel and Chelsa Johnson as winners of closet to the pin. The putting contest was won by John Gibson.

Thanks to the generous 52 businesses and individuals who sponsored holes and donated money and prizes for the tournament.

A big salute goes to Buzz Kyllonen.

Last but not least, appreciation to Rene Alvarez for all his efforts on behalf of hospice.

For those of you who were not able to take part in this event, be watching for details of the Fourth Annual Holes Fore Hospice of Homer Golf Tournament Fundraiser to be held next spring.
