Fork Club for teens is back

Next Wednesday, July 11, is the first of four free cooking classes for teens hosted by the R.E.C. Room (with support from the Homer Foundations Youth Advisory Committee). This is a chance for teens ages 12-21 to show off their skills and learn new skills with local chef, Teri Robl.

A delicious menu has been prepared with all the benefits of eating homecooked meals with fresh and local ingredients in mind. These benefits include more vitamins and minerals from fresher foods, little or no preservatives, low carbon footprint, less expensive and goes farther than processed foods, teaches youth to enjoy food slowly and together.

So, please spread the healthy word to any teens you may know to get involved in the lifelong healthy skill of cooking by signing up in person at the R.E.C. Room (Monday through Thursday between 3 and 6 p.m.), calling 235-6736 or emailing recroom.kbfpc.org.
