Not all work and no play

Adults and kids find time to play and work last Saturday at Bayview Park, located at the top of Main Street. More than 30 people worked to spruce up the park, filling in dirt around the new slide installed by the city earlier in the week, fixing the fence, painting the picnic tables and working on many other projects. Above, Kaia Borba slides into the arms of her mom, Natalie Betley, after some encouragement from her grandmother, Bonnie Betley, while other kids wait their turn on the new slide. At left, Morgan Sicilia works to smooth the dirt around the slide. The work party was a collaboration between Families First, the Homer Playground Project and the city of Homer Parks and Recreation program.
