Grants benefit young children

On behalf of Kachemak Kids Early Learning Center I would like to thank the City of Homer Grant Program for the grant we received through the Homer Foundation. This grant has provided KKELC the opportunity to provide an after-school program for 5- through 6-year-old children in our community. We look forward to growing and learning with these older children when our program starts up in August. We greatly appreciate the City of Homer Grant Program for making it possible to fund the teacher and materials to run our after-school program.

I also would like to thank Families First for awarding Kachemak Kids one of your Families First Mini Grants. We used the grant for our art program to purchase much needed paint, paper and scissors for our young artists. Our annual art show was such a success with art covering every wall. Thank you again, Families First, for supporting early childhood education.
