Carnivals, barbecues, raffles and a parade. That about sums up the American dream at the end of the road, which is the theme-for-the-day, selected by the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center.

We were just looking at something possible for July 4th themes and inside this years visitor guide, on the welcome to Homer page, it says at the end of the road the adventure begins. Thats kind of where we are, so were using that as a slogan, said Nyla Lightcap, visitor center manager.

People say they want music so were bringing it to them and hoping they mean it, said Lara McGinnis, fair manager. Its everything from a little blues to heavy metal to rock.
