Soil demonstration useful
Dear Editor,

Community Rivers Planning Coalition would like to thank the many participants in the successful soil remediation site visit that was conducted on June 11. Special thanks to Steve Manchester of North Pacific Remediation, Brad Authier of Oasis Environmental, Lanie Hughes from the Kenai Peninsula Borough, and Monica English from the Department of Environmental Conservation for their informative answers to our questions.

The purpose of the site visit was for the public to have a chance to examine how soil remediation works and to ask questions pertaining to their concerns about what happens to the soil during and after remediation. We look forward to continuing the dialogue that was established at the site visit in the future with the communities that are affected by soil contamination and subsequent remediation.
