Accounts have been brought up to date on two contractors working for McKinney-Alaska on the Homer fish dock who said the week before they had not been paid. A third contractor, Neal and Co., has sent an ultimatum demanding payment by the end of the month.
Ignoring the majority of a committee formed to review the book "Son's" by Evan Hunter, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Board of Education voted to remove the book from the Kenai Central High School library. The book had drawn objection from a student's parent because of its use of the names of God and Jesus in curses, as well as descriptions of sexual acts in some passages.
