Homer Police are seeking whomever left a pipe bomb in the playground of Paul Banks Elementary School over the weekend. Homer Police Lt. Dennis Oakland said it was the first time in memory that a pipe bomb had been found in Homer. An Army bomb squad from Fort Richardson, later blew up the device in Mud Bay.
More than a dozen charter operators stormed the Homer Port and Harbor Advisory Commission last week demanding a halt to so-called tail-gate operations they say run fishing charters out of their trucks.
