Engagement: Katie Read and Aaron Ulmer

Steven and Maryanne Read of Eagle River announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Read, to Aaron Ulmer, son of Scott and Cathie Ulmer of Homer. The couple will marry Aug. 7, 2009, in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Katie Read graduated from Chugiak High School in 2001. A registered nurse, she is pursuing a degree from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing to become a family nurse practitioner.

Aaron Ulmer graduate from Homer High School in 2000. He is working on a degree in business from the University of Alaska Anchorage and works for Chem Track, a construction company.
