Hospice of Homer says thanks

On behalf of Hospice of Homer, I want to thank the Gooseberry Fund Donors who are part of the Homer Foundation for their generous support through their recent grant to hospice. The grant will fund a Foraker facilitator for the Hospice of Homer board/staff planning session which will focus on honing our fundraising tool box.

As most people realize, effective and efficient fundraising is fundamental to any nonprofit. It is especially vital to Hospice of Homer because HOH does not charge for any of the services we provide and we depend almost solely on grants and donations.

Resourceful and successful fundraising is the bedrock upon which hospice rests; it is essential to the health of HOH and to the people HOH serves.

I want to specifically acknowledge The Homer Foundation, staff and board for all they do. How fortunate we are to have this resource in our community.

In conclusion, I again want to thank the Gooseberry Fund and all of you who support Hospice of Homer. As the number of people HOH services continues to increase, hospice needs a similar increase in financial support. If you are interested in making a donation to Hospice of Homer or becoming a volunteer please contact us at 235-6899.

Kudos to the Gooseberry Fund.
