Anchor Point announces its own farmers' market

Summer is officially here. We celebrated Summer Solstice on Tuesday. Let the summer fun begin.

Sounds like we are going to have a few clouds in our Alaska skies, but don't let that put a damper in your outdoor plans. The rain gives us all a break from having to water our gardens.

Anchor Point is going to start a Farmer's Market on Saturday and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Finding the right location is always a challenge, but for now it will take place in the museum lot.

Another great thing that is happening in our area is SD&WP owned by Jeremy Symens is offering free vehicle disposal to the Anchor Point community, Happy Valley and to Black Water Bend to help promote a clean community. Jeremy also will take washers and dryers, cook stoves and any steel objects. He does offer this service in other areas for a cost. For more information you can reach Jeremy at 347-8035. His office and the new location for Z and Z video is right across from the Trading Post in Anchor Point.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Be safe and good luck on the water.

Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce

The July 4th buttons are out in the community. The ducks also are in. All ducks have been distributed to the local businesses for purchase. You also can pick your ducks up at the chamber office.

The chamber is sponsoring a Farmer's Market and we invite all farmers and crafters to join us on the weekends. Table space is available for $10 for both Saturday and Sunday. Call the chamber for more information at 235-2600.
