June 11

A caller at 8:49 a.m. reported a semi-tractor trailer with a tire on fire on East End Road. Police couldnt find the truck.

A woman at 5:44 p.m. reported an injured sea otter on the Homer Spit beach. Police notified the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward.

Police at 11:42 p.m. replaced several manhole covers on Pioneer Avenue.

June 12

A caller at 12:01 a.m. reported a drunk man causing a possible fight on Pioneer Avenue.

A woman at 10:33 a.m. reported damage to a retaining wall on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 5:44 p.m. reported a man who might have a weapon threatening people at a local bar. Police responded.

June 13

A caller at 5:19 p.m. asked for police help in returning property to its owner.

A man at 6:35 p.m. reported losing a cell phone in the East Hill Road and Skyline Drive area.

An off-duty officer at 7:20 p.m. reported a driver crossed the center and side lines on Crittenden Drive near the Sterling Highway. Police stopped suspect and arrested a 64-year-old man for driving under the influence and reckless endangerment.

A man at 7:34 p.m. made a report every dangerous driver immediately complaint of a person driving recklessly on East End Road. Police could not find the suspect.

A woman at 7:36 p.m. reported a man beat her up all the time but said she didnt want officers at her home. Police later contacted the woman and determined she was OK.

June 14

Police a 2:41 a.m. made a traffic stop on a man driving on the Sterling Highway near the post office. Police arrested the driver, a 22-year-old man, for DUI.

A caller at 11:34 a.m. reported receiving a threatening letter at a Pioneer Avenue address.

A man at 12:48 p.m. made a 911 call of a boat running aground and sinking in the harbor. Police called the harbor office and determined harbor officials were assisting a vessel and had the vessel run up on a sand bar.

Police at 1:11 p.m. received a 911 call from a Cozy Cove Drive home. Police called back and determined a child was playing with the phone and all was OK.

A woman at 4:10 p.m. reported being harassed and followed.

A person at 6:02 p.m. reported a possible break-in at a Shoreline Drive home.

A caller at 9:56 p.m. reported an overturned trailer in the road at the top of Baycrest Hill. Police determined the trailer had come unhitched. There were no injuries.

June 15

A woman at 2:22 a.m. made a 911 call that her husband was assaulted on the Spit. Police arrested a 24-year-old man for fourth-degree assault.

A woman at 7:44 a.m. reported a man walking down Bartlett Street wearing shackles. Police responded but could not locate the man.

A woman at 11:10 a.m. reported she lost her bike helmet.

A person at 1 p.m. reported harassing phone calls.

A woman at 3:30 p.m. reported fraudulent use of a credit card.

A woman at 5:10 p.m. reported her Tamara Street home was robbed.

A woman at 7:30 p.m. reported another woman missed her doctors appointment. Police and EMTs went to the womans home to do a welfare check.

A caller at 8:10 p.m. reported a cow moose stuck behind a gate at a Lake Street business with calves outside of the gate. Police responded and reunited the moose family.

Police at 11:11 p.m. issued a summons to a 23-year-old man for driving in violation of a motorcycle permit.

June 16

Police at 12:59 a.m. issued a summons to a 20-year-old man for not having motor vehicle insurance.

A caller at 1:33 a.m. reported a drunk man wearing glasses and a dark hoodie came to his Forest Glen Drive home asking for help getting a car out of the ditch. Police responded and arrested a 41-year-old man for DUI and driving while license revoked. A towing company got the mans car out of the ditch.

A caller at 2:29 p.m. reported a 1987 Pontiac was stolen. Police located the car and returned it to the owner.

A man at 4:11 p.m. reported an outboard motor was stolen.

A woman at 5:23 p.m. made a 911 call of an assault at a Herndon Drive building. Police responded and issued a trespass notice to a woman.

A person at 7:35 p.m. reported a drunk man wearing a white beanie riding a motorcycle in circles at a Sterling Highway motel parking lot. Another caller made a similar complainant and said the man was a guest at the motel. Police could not find the suspect.

A man at 10:46 p.m. reported he suspected someone stole his golden retriever dog in the Kachemak Drive area.

A caller at 11:50 p.m. reported a drunk man drove away in a blue van from a Pioneer Avenue bar. Police could not locate the suspect.

June 17

A caller at 12:16 a.m. reported an injured sea otter on the Spit. Police contacted the Alaska SeaLife Center who advised giving the otter time to go back into the ocean.

Police at 2:40 p.m. issued a summons to a 23-year-old man for failure to provide proof of insurance.

A man at 4:25 p.m. made a 911 call that someone pulled a gun on him at a Main Street address. Police responded and arrested the caller, a 52-year-old man, for resisting arrest, harassment, trespassing and disorderly conduct.

A man at 7 p.m. picked up a dog darting in and out of traffic on the Sterling Highway. Police took the dog to the animal shelter.

A 25-year-old woman at 7:42 p.m. went to the police station and turned herself in on an outstanding warrant. Police booked and lodged the woman in the jail.
