R.E.C. Room

The resource and enrichment co-op for youth ages 12-18 kicks off a summer program of youth-lead activities with a dance for high schoolers 7-10 p.m. tomorrow. The dance is hosted by Homer Youth for Environmental Action and the $5 admission donation will benefit HAYEA's education and advocacy work. On June 21, the Tuesday Art Group (T.A.G. team) will meet 3-5 p.m. to do art journaling with Brett Glidden. Speak Out and Persuade (S.O.A.P. box), a public forum for youth debate and discussions, will be held 2-4 p.m. on June 24. Besides weekly events, the R.E.C. Room hopes to offer monthly dances through the summer, open-mic nights, movie and pizza nights, evening cooking classes, and workshops taught by other youth.

The R.E.C. room is a multi-purpose facility located at 3957 Nielsen Circle, open 2-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. For more information and a schedule of events, visit www.recroom.kbfpc.org or call 235-OPEN (6736).
