Woman charged with assault

Homer Police on Saturday arrested a Homer woman on three counts of felony third-degree assault for allegedly threatening housemates with an ax. Police took Kayla J. Yotter, 21, to the Homer Jail after she was treated for cuts at South Peninsula Hospital. No one else was injured.

According to a criminal complaint, Officer Ryan Browning wrote that police went to Yotter's home about 4:30 p.m. June 9 for a report of a domestic disturbance at a Tamara Street home. A caller said Yotter threatened people in the home with an ax. Browning and two other officers responded and found everyone but Yotter outside. Browning contacted Yotter by phone and talked her into coming outside.
