Horse expo set for June 22-23

The for "Great Alaska Horse Expo" will be held at the Kenai Peninsula State Fairgrounds in Ninilchik June 22-23. It is being organized by Allison Trimble, formerly of Anchor Point and now of Bellingham, Wash. Trimble, who has a degree in animal science from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, and five "very interactive and approachable" clinicians from the United States and Canada will offer clinics on a wide range of subjects. The other clinicians are Kimberly Barber, Kade Mills, Barry Cox, Raye Lochert and Mark Plumlee. A Great Alaska Cowboy Race is part of the two-day fun. Atz Kilcher of Homer will be the race host; activities include an obstacle race, barbecue, campfire, singing, storytelling and cowboy poetry.
