Scholarships will be used at UAF

I would like to thank the Tin Roof Fund at the Homer Foundation for awarding me the Beluga Writing Scholarship. The scholarship is for $3,000, and I will use it to pursue my education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and major in geological engineering. Writing has always been an important part of my life, and I really appreciate their support as I go on to pursue my goals. I will definitely keep writing because it is what I love to do. Thanks again to the Tin Roof Fund at the Homer Foundation.

I also would like to take the time to thank a few other organizations that have awarded their scholarships to me this year. The Kachemak Bay Lions donated a $1,000 scholarship, as did the Homer Embelm Club No. 350. Both of these organizations are service-based, so I really appreciate all they have done to support me and all the prospective college-bound young adults like me. I will use the money to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks and major in geological engineering. Thanks again to the Kachemak Bay Lions and the Homer Emblem Club No. 350.
