Community's caring appreciated

Thank you to everyone who offered their love and support throughout Bonnie's difficult struggle with cancer. Bonnie began writing a thank-you note of her own before she passed, and we would like to share that with you all and finish what she started:

"Hello to all of my friends and co-workers. I started receiving wonderful cards and gifts within the first week of treatment. I had grandiose expectations of writing to each and every person. I bought a bunch of beautiful thank-you cards not realizing what my treatment would really entail the chemo and radiation really affected my vision so writing thank-you cards proved to be too much." (Bonnie)

Bonnie's family would like to add special thanks to the nurses from South Peninsula Home Health. Each of you offered compassion, kindness, dignity and the highest level of competency while supporting Bonnie's wish to remain at home all the way through the end. We are forever grateful to Bonnie's entire medical team: Dr. Raymond, Dr. Sayer, Dr. Steyer, the physician's assistants Nancy and Ann, the EMS crews who assisted in transport, as well as the staff at South Peninsula Hospital. All of you went above and beyond the call of duty to help keep Bonnie comfortable in every way possible.

Also, thank you to Hospice of Homer and the Center for Independent Living. Your work is so very important and we are blessed to have you as a resources. Everyone's help was deeply appreciated by Bonnie.

And to the community, Bonnie's dear friends and co-workers, acquaintances and anyone who prayed for her and offered kind words of support, your concern and outpouring of love was truly overwhelming. We thank you.
