Homer Alaska - Anchor Point

Story last updated at 8:33 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2011

It's beginning to feel a lot like summer on southern peninsula

Happy summer to all. What a great start to summer we have. Our snowbirds are almost all home, the tourists are pulling in and there is sunshine in the beautiful Alaska sky.

Flag Day is June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. I know the Elks Lodge in Homer usually has a Flag Day ceremony.

Let get outdoors and have some fun. Have a great weekend and good luck on the water.
