A man at 11:55 a.m. asked police to remove people from a rental unit. Police told the man the address was in Alaska State Trooper territory and a civil matter. A man at 1:39 p.m. reported hearing a child screaming from a Fairview Avenue home. Police responded and found all was OK. A caller at 5:55 p.m. reported a man shoplifting at a Lake Street store. Police responded and arrested a 29-year-old man on a probation violation. A caller at 7:25 p.m. reported a shoplifter in custody at a Sterling Highway store. Police charged a 23-year-old woman with third-degree theft. A caller at 10:50 p.m. reported a shoplifter in custody at a Sterling Highway store. Police issued a summons for fourth-degree theft to a 26-year-old woman. A caller at 10:50 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Sterling Highway store. The man didnt have an emergency, but thought it was suspicious two Alaska State Trooper cars were parked in the area. A caller at 6:29 p.m. reported a suspected shoplifter at a Sterling Highway store tried to run him over after being confronted. A woman at 10:14 p.m. reported shots fired in the Crossman Ridge area. Police contacted three people in a car and warned them not to discharge firearms in city limits. May 28 Police at 9:38 a.m. issued a summons to a 51-year-old man for failure to provide proof of insurance. A caller at 12:40 p.m. reported a party at an unoccupied Glacier View Court home. Police discovered video tapes involving people who appeared not to know they were being filmed. A woman at 2:49 p.m. reported a driver in a car swerving toward bicyclists on West Hill Road. Police contacted the driver. A woman at 4:11 p.m. reported a neighbors dog soiled her Klondike Avenue lawn. May 30 A woman at 2:04 a.m. reported someone hacking into her computer. A man at 8:43 a.m. asked police to retrieve his unattended gun at the Karen Hornaday Park Campground while he was hospitalized. Police could not find the gun. A man at 1:20 p.m. asked police for assistance in removing trespassing campers from his Sterling Highway property. Police at 10:48 p.m. tried to find the owners of tents on the property. A man at 3 p.m. reported the theft of a propeller from his Kachemak Drive property. May 31 A man at 10:57 a.m. reported a stolen bicycle from the Karen Hornaday Park Campground. A man at 11:10 a.m. reported a theft from a car parked on Herndon Drive. A man at 12:31 p.m. reported a stolen car. The man called back at 11:12 p.m. to report he found the car and that it had been borrowed, not stolen. A man at 1:34 p.m. reported buying a Dremel tool from a man panhandling on the Sterling Highway. The man said he wanted to report the purchase in case it turned out to be stolen. A man at 8:21 p.m. reported someone sprayed him with bear spray at Bishops Beach. A man at 10:36 p.m. reported his girlfriend hit him. June 1 A man at 9:15 a.m. reported a large sum of money accidentally wired to an employees account and the employee refused to return it. A man at 10 a.m. reported a flag stolen from an Ocean Drive building. A woman at 12:35 p.m. reported a moose calf stuck inside the yard of a business on FAA Road. Police responded and the moose was freed. A man at 1:35 p.m. reported identity theft. A caller at 4:03 p.m. reported a juvenile shoplifted at a Lake Street business. Police referred the case to the Office of Juvenile Justice. A man at 5:05 p.m. reported his lawn mower was stolen out of the back of his truck. A woman at 5:45 p.m. reported losing two sleeping bags out of the back of her truck on the Spit. A woman at 8:01 p.m. reported four boys shooting with bow and arrows at a moose in the Rochelle Road area. A woman at 10 p.m. reported a man was at a Spit bar drinking who lifted up his coat and showed his gun. A bouncer at 10:57 p.m. at an East End Road bar later reported the same man was drunk and at the bar with a gun. Police arrested a 54-year-old man on weapons misconduct charges. A ferry employee at 11:43 p.m. asked for police help with a drunk passenger. Police contacted the passenger who said someone was coming to give him a ride. A woman at 11:51 p.m. reported hearing someone in her Main Street house, but she said she thought it could be an animal, too. Police contacted the woman and did a security check of her house. All was OK. June 2 Alaska State Troopers at 12:46 a.m. asked for help with a theft of a wallet from a hitchhiker. Two suspects were heading toward Homer in a dark blue Dodge Dakota pickup. Police could not locate the suspects. Police at 12:53 a.m. contacted people camping in a motorhome at the Baycrest Hill pullout. Police told the people there was no camping at the pullout and to move along. Police at 3:40 a.m. contacted a 30-year-old man on Ohlson Lane and arrested him for driving under the influence. A man at 12:30 p.m. reported property vandalized on East End Road. A man at 2:10 p.m. reported removing someone from his Ocean Drive business who could be a problem for someone else later. June 3 A woman at 1:33 a.m. reported being locked out of her Heath Street house with her purse and keys inside. Police responded and helped the women retrieve her personal items. A man at 5:07 a.m. reported seeing two people who appeared to be having sex behind a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded and found the couple mostly dressed. The couple was told to move along. A woman at 8:55 a.m. reported her mother was driving down Baycrest Hill on the Sterling Highway and might be having a heart attack. Police and EMTs responded. A woman at 11:38 a.m. reported someone camping behind a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and told the campers to camp in designated areas. A caller at 2:42 p.m. reported a girl shoplifting at a Lake Street business. Police detained the girl on fourth-degree theft charges. A caller at 9:51 p.m. reported a man slumped over the wheel of a car on Mattox Road. Police responded and arrested a 50-year-old man for DUI. A caller at 11:58 p.m. reported a man refused to leave a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded and arrested a 31-year-old man for criminal trespassing. June 4 A man at 3:34 a.m. reported he was cleaning at the Homer Airport and found a woman sleeping on the floor of the building. Two callers at 10:27 a.m reported seeing a moose calf in the Hillfair Court area with its ear ripped off and bleeding. A mother moose nearby was in distress. Police responded and advised the callers to keep their distance from the moose. A woman at 10:40 a.m. reported a dog killed her rabbits at her East End Road home. Police contacted the dog owner. A person at 3 p.m. came by the police station with a loose dog found on Bishops Beach. The person took the dog to the owner. A caller at 7:07 p.m. reported drunk men outside a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and took a 49-year-old man into protective custody. A caller at 8:20 p.m. reported someone drove across her Bayview Avenue lawn and damaged the grass. A caller at 9:47 p.m. reported suspicious vehicles at a Waddell Road vacant lot. June 5 An out-of-town caller at 4:55 a.m. asked to speak to an officer about guns that went missing while he had been in Homer.
